Anime Squadron Beginner Guide

Anime Squadron Beginner Guide

What the game is about

Anime Squadron is a Roblox anime lane-battler / tower-defense style game. You collect anime-inspired units, build a squad, place and upgrade units during stages, clear waves of enemies, and use rewards to improve your account and units.

Core loop: redeem codes -> summon units -> upgrade Perks -> clear Story -> farm Gold/Gems/Trait Shards -> reroll Traits/Stats -> craft Gear -> progress into Challenges, Squadron, Raids, and harder modes.

Main systems

System

Why it matters

Beginner priority

Units

Your fighters. Each unit has abilities, upgrades, stats, and possible traits.

Build around one strong DPS plus fast/support units.

Yen

In-match resource used to place and upgrade units.

Upgrade Maximum Yen and Yen Generation early.

Gold

Account resource used for Perks and progression.

Spend early Gold on Perks, not Base Health.

Gems

Used for summons and progression pulls.

Use codes, Story, quests, and AFK World to farm them.

Trait Shards / Cubes

Used to reroll traits and stats.

Save high-value rerolls for strong Legendary/Mythic units.

Gear

Endgame power system that specializes units by role.

Craft after you have stable units and materials.

Start here

  • Redeem all active codes first. Codes give Gold, Gems, Trait Shards, rerolls, Stat Cubes, Perfect Cubes, and Bounty Tickets.
  • Upgrade Perks immediately. Start with Maximum Yen and Yen Generation so you can place and upgrade more units during stages.
  • Clear Story Mode first. Story gives reliable rewards and unlocks smoother progression.
  • Use one carry DPS. A Legendary or Mythic DPS should be the center of your early team.
  • Add fast/support units. Units that reach the enemy base quickly help with early clears.
  • Only reroll serious units. Do not waste rare cubes or trait resources on units you will replace soon.

Early team direction

For Story progression, Pro Game Guides recommends building around one strong DPS and several fast units. Example early Story teams include:

  • Big Beard + Choi + Rudaus
  • Vegeta/Goki + Fastwagon + Karashi
The exact unit names may vary by update or translation, but the idea is stable: one high-damage carry, one or more units that can pressure lanes quickly, and enough economy/upgrades to keep the defense from collapsing.

Perk priority

  • Upgrade Maximum Yen to Level 5 early. This raises the starting cap from a restrictive early limit to around 2.5K, making unit placement and upgrades easier.
  • Upgrade Yen Generation to Level 5 early. Faster Yen income lets you place and upgrade units sooner in each match.
  • After Level 5, alternate based on need. If you cannot afford higher unit upgrades, raise Maximum Yen. If you are waiting too long for income, raise Yen Generation.
  • Ignore Base Health early. The guide notes that Base Health is expensive and does not improve farming or clears as much as economy perks.

How to farm resources

Resource

Best early sources

Notes

Gold

Codes, selling extra units, Discovery rewards, Daily Challenge, Squadron stages, AFK World.

GT City is mentioned as a short/easy Squadron farm map.

Gems

Codes, Story stages, Beginner Missions, Daily/Weekly/Special Quests, AFK World, Daily Login.

Use Gems to chase stronger units, but avoid reckless spending after you have a workable team.

Trait Shards

Codes, Daily Challenge, Katakara Bridge, Raid Shop after Raids unlock.

Spend them on units you plan to keep.

Player XP

Story, Challenge, Squadron, and regular progression content.

Reach higher player levels to unlock more modes and shops.

Game modes

  • Story Mode: main early progression. Clear easy and hard versions for rewards and materials.
  • Challenge: daily and permanent challenges for Gold, Gems, Trait Shards, and other materials.
  • Squadron: repeatable farming mode; useful for Gold once your team is stable.
  • Raids: unlocked later, around Level 15 according to the beginner guide. Raids provide Omega Coins and access to Raid Shop rewards.
  • AFK World: passive farming option for Gold, Gems, and other rewards while away.

Traits and stat rerolls

  • Traits are passive buffs that can strongly improve a unit.
  • Stats and traits can both be rerolled, but resources are limited.
  • Use early codes to get enough Trait Shards and cubes for your first strong unit.
  • Do not chase perfect traits on low-rarity filler units.
  • Once you pull a strong Legendary/Mythic carry, start investing rerolls there.

Gear guide by role

Role

Recommended gear direction

Why

Crit DPS

3/3 Berserker + Hogyoku + Devil Amulet + Devil Sword

Boosts crit consistency and rewards repeated crits.

Pure DPS

2/3 Shenron/Omega + 1/3 Falcon + Hogyoku + Devil Amulet + Dragon Slayer

Flexible direct-damage setup when the unit is not crit-focused.

DoT units

3/3 Shenron/Omega + Hogyoku + Devil Amulet + Dragon Slayer or Devil Sword

Rewards units that apply burn/bleed/DoT effects consistently.

Support

3/3 Falcon or 3/3 Aizen/Puppeteer

Supports usually care more about uptime and team value than raw burst.

Tank / Infinite Mode

3/3 Aizen/Puppeteer + Hogyoku + Devil Amulet + Dragon Slayer

Works well for units that take hits and scale in longer runs.

First-hour route

  • Redeem every active code before spending anything.
  • Open the Perks menu and upgrade Maximum Yen and Yen Generation to Level 5.
  • Summon enough units to build one carry-focused Story team.
  • Clear Story stages first to gather Gems and basic materials.
  • Sell useless duplicate/low-rarity units for Gold.
  • Claim Discovery rewards from the Discovery NPC after summoning new units.
  • Complete Beginner Missions and Daily Challenges when your team can handle them.
  • Use rerolls only on units you expect to keep.
  • Start crafting Gear after you have a stable core team.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Spending Gold on Base Health instead of economy Perks.
  • Trying to perfect reroll weak units that will be replaced.
  • Ignoring Discovery rewards after summoning new units.
  • Forgetting AFK World, Daily Login, and free rewards.
  • Crafting random gear without matching it to the unit's role.
  • Skipping Story progression and jumping into modes before the team is ready.

Quick rule to remember

Codes give the start, Perks give the economy, Story gives progression, Traits/Gear give scaling. Build one strong carry first, then optimize everything around that team.
